Mint-tea Time

I still cannot say I'm settled or fully habitated, but I'm on my way! Karin, my new roomie, got a job in France, so I will have a new room-mate for holidays. Anyway, our room looks more like a human bedroom than hm... emporium O.o

I prepeard five floorplans we could use and picked one. I think, Karin seemed satisfied as she share my idea of sleeping closer to the window. So we put both matraces as close to window, as it was possible, both of each side of room to create "sleeping part", then placed tables in "working part" and the closest to door are those clothing rags, little library and wardrobe as a "dressing part", and the window bay is a "resting part" :P

Here:

That yellow room is ours.

Awesome view for my window. I can see some kind of baroque residence. I think it's embassy or something like that, because it's guarded throughout day and night by policeman.

... and kitchen.

By the way, these are the last photographies from my digital Canon. The basic lens is not working anymore due to broken teeth of sprocket of focus... :/ You can see, that they are kinda blurred. The problem is, I can't see if it's sharp until I put my photos in the computer. And the other thing is, I don't know how I managed to do that, but the bottom half of every pic is blue... so... I guess I need to save my money for new camera :/

While I'm being lately so hyperactive with writing on my blog, I decided to show and introduce you to my school project. It's just a study, something like a start point I needed to create for finishing the bachelor thesis and became Bc. Veron.

If you are reading my effusions, you might remember one where I was freaking out, cause I had to attend one of the hardest studios at school called FLOW, or Studio Florian. The base is in digital, adaptabile architecture and ... I was as lost as a person could be. I just didn't belong there, I wasn't anything like my classmates are, I was scared and thought it's impossible to finish this work. Even winter term ended up as I predicted, so I was forced to repeat the same class if I wanted to finish school.

The thing is, and I'm still a bit unsure about it, that I decided, completely on my own, no one convince me to do so, to repeat that work in the same studio I just didn't fit at all. Why? Because I thought that even if I would be unable to finish this, I would have different point of view at least, maybe learn to work in new softwares and finally would be able to build myself a 3D model of my design. It would have been worth of me being fired from school.

However, this didn't happen thanks to big support from many people. I had to admit, I would not suceeded without my family, friends, classmates and Mr. Florián, the headmaster of studio Flow. Huge thanks to all of you! Thank you, mummy, you helped me mentally and financially like a lot, thank you for finding Academy-X and assuring me not to look on price. Thank you, daddy, for your mental and financial support as well, your little message brighten my day :) I have to thank to Mr. Florián, to be the most supportive teacher I've ever had the chance to meet at Faculty of Architecture, for all those midnight doses of inspirations and not complicating my study even more. Thank you, my dearest cousin Alen, you helped me with organizing my thoughts, and to my awesome cousin Michal for filling me up with inspiration and showing me the way out of my misery, so I wasn't stuck anymore. Friends for tolerance, patience, for cheering me up and encouraging speeches x) and classmates for accepting me in their crew and not denying me due to different way of thinking, I really start to like all of you. I really appreciate your honesty with my final poster presentation.

Now back to the bachelor thesis :D The theme was Family house for four members with additive function which I've chose to be photographic studio with gallery. I started with some cubes cause it was easier, but they tried to push me in different direction, to organic shapes and structures. I didn't know how to handle this, 'cause it was completely new to me. When winter term ended I had just bunch of metaballs designed in some horibble hill that supposed to look atractivelly. To my despair it looked everything else just not atractive. My friend from school told me that it reminded him of "piles", uh eh, and to others, they even couldn't imagine to live inside. So I knew I need to work it out somehow...

I picked those balls and separate them, each one of them having concrete function like one for living room, one for photographic studio, one for master's bedroom and so on.

And then I organized and arranged them in a functional order to create open-plan interior. It has taken several attempts to find out which one suits my idea for the best.

I'd needed to choose a "thought" I would work with, build on it, so I've picked green roofs. We've been talking about this from very beginning, about having approachable roofs from the ground level. So after I found the most suitable form of a house, I linked it with the land by alternatively sloping the roofs down.

The alternating was due to difference in needs of daylight, because you don't need as much light in photographic studio, than you need in living room and the same applies for bathrooms and children bedrooms. Hopefully you get my point and could understand my way of thinking while designing my third family house.

It looks like a zipper, so I called it The Zipper house and got printed it at work, so thank you, Honza, for helping me out and cutting such a big poster while lying on the floor :P

Okay guys, here's the thing. I'm leaving this quiet flat near woods and changing it for a bigger one, that's closer to my school. I think I'm gonna miss it here, because even if there were four of us I still could steal some privacy, which won't be possible in the new apartment with my classmates from Faculty of Architecture. Anyway, my future-roomie seems nice, she is almost as intelligent as Žužmi, she is studying Japanology or what and is interested in design. Moreover, she likes stuff I do too :) we are decorating our old bedroom with creaky wooden floor, white walls and big windows together. Here are our ideas:

First of all, I need to mention, that there are walled doors to boys bedroom, which creates a shallow alcove, and second thing, which is interesting about this room, we have a bay window! Yay! It's soo romantic!

Now, we decided to try black wall for the alcove and use it as a blackboard or gallery for pictures. I'm a bit worried about how dark it would feel, but on the other hand I'm looking forward for leaving messages to Karin, which is my future-roomie's name :P

Something like this:

For the bay window we are gonna make a "rest zone" with arm chair, footstool, old-school chest used as another seat and a provisional coffee table made of old suitcases. Here are examples:

I always wished to try a bed built-up of wooden pallets and mattress. To my great surprise, Karin wants it exactly like me, so it won't look riddiculous, when each one of us would have different type of bed, right?

For work space just a classic table with chair, nothing really special, but it has to be close to bookcase :P I wanted to try to compose the bookcase from wooden boxes, as you can see below, but our room isn't spacious enough, so we have to stick with ordinary book-rack. Maybe I will try those boxes for my shoes :)

For our clothes we both will use clothing racks with paper boxes for underwear.

Well and just lights have left. This is the hardest part, because the best pieces are so expensive, like, seriously, EIGHT THOUSAND czech crowns for one stupid desk lamp, are you kidding me? -.- I don't like cheap plastic lamps from Ikea. If there is the slightest possibility to have lamp as I wish, it would be steam-punk-inspirated, kinda industrial lamp, from waterpipes, old metal taps and sprockets, but it's impossible. I'm not willing to spend such a huge amount of money for one lamp, not at all. Anyway, here is my idea of nice lamp :P :D and following are ideas I wanna make real.

These bulbs are called Edison's and I fell in love with them :) I think, they are pretty interesting and I love the strange style of lighting.

For my own decoration I would love to have a big wall map of London, 'cause it's my favourite city. That old one, beige and brown, hanging on the wall beside my bed and amended by my photographies tacked to some kind of string, so I won't damage the wall.

This one is perfect!!!

Aaaand that's all :) What do you think, will it work or not? Or do you have any ideas how to improve our conception?

I don't want you to think about me as a person full of hatred. I'm not, at least I hope I'm not :) To equate last post I decided to write new one, dedicated to stuff I like, because there is so many little joys around us, that are being neglecting. Mainly when you are stressed from school... heh. So, after bit of a rest I can see more of them :)

1) I adore, when someone praise something completely ordinary that I've done. Something unexpected, cause you take it as a part of your character or just rutine. I'm not talking about something you've been trying to achieve for too long and they compliment it with words "you did a great job!". Obviously, this one is nice and heartwarming too, but I meant this little compliments coming out nowhere. When you clean the mess at you workplace and your colleague would say "You are amazing, thank you!" or when you have to speak with people, cause that's your job and after saying goodbye to a customer, your colleague would say "I really missed you! You are so naturally kind to people and they like it so much!" or when my mum conviced me to come home and we've been prepearing lunch together. She's told me that she is so pleased with me being helpful and accompaning her. It pleases me a lot, because people notice the stuff we are doing, but most of the time they seem not to care or be lazy to express it, or too shy or whatever. I don't do it either, but I definitely should, because this feeling afterwards is simply epic.

2) I adore... air-condition in my room! Especially in this terrible heat :D

3) I adore when I got a postcard or a letter. So old-school and untraditional in these days, because most of the time you simply got an e-mail or text.

4) I adore when my mum came pick me up from a bus station after long and annoying journey and first thing she tells me is "we have a soup at home." There's nothing better than mummy, who can empathise and figure out my needs when I'm not very talkative.

5) I adore my family, of course. They are great, so supportive, but the thing I adore is the possibility to talk with each one of them. It wasn't always like that because of some obstacles such as difference in age for example. Therefore is great to feel important even for my younger sisters when they are in need of advice or just opinion and they pick me to talk to.

6) I adore hugs and it doesn't matter, if they are friendly, caring, firm, long, short, but it must be with someone trustworthy and well-known by me, otherwise I'm not able to fully enjoy it.

7) I adore pumpkin oil! Omg it is such a treasure!!! (and I adore even peanut butter, hehe :D)

8) I adore when everything is going well according to plan, cause it doesn't happen very often :D generally I have to change it to plan B, C, D... M, ... no, generally I have to improvise, uh uh. However I'm really profi in it :D

9) I adore the after-work-out and being-showered feeling, when I can just sit, drink water and tell myself I'm satisfied I wasn't sitting whole day and actually did something for my health and body.

10) I adore laughing. Personally, I do not laugh much, cause I don't find many things funny, more like awkward, stupid or pitiful. I know, I'm too serious and I'm not joke-teller either, but when someone is, I can laugh a lot so my midriff is hurting and I'm unable to take a breath :D

+

I adore storms! All of the lightnings, thunders, drumming of raindrops on my window and fresh air, mhmmm <3

I've been washing dishes and thinking about stuff I hate the most, because I became sort of inspired, while standing in the kitchen with both of my hands covered with bubbles. It's not that I hate these house works, no, not at all, actually I like them, cause I can rest my eyes and mind for a while. No, it's the mess and the food that is hardened and stay literally glued to the cooker, which is driving me crazy. So that's the first thing and here we go.

1) I hate, when somebody finish cooking and leave that goddamn cooker dirty with remains of food to harden and dry. Oh, that's so disgusting! Rinse it or fill it with water, for god sake! It won't take so much time! Ten seconds top! Geez!

2) I hate 25 degrees and higher temperatures. I'm all-the-other-seasons lover. Summer is so exhausting! I still want to sleep, I still feel tired, without energy, my eyes hurt, still feel sweaty and gluey, I can't breath this warm air and ... I can't wear sweathers, otherwise I would involuntarily self-ignite.

3) I hate delays. I mean... I don't mind delays WHILE I'm still OUTSIDE of the transportation vehicle. Somewhere on the platform or whatever. Being prisoned inside of bus or train or even car, I feel so helpless and unable to move. My bottom is in pain, cause I have to remain seated and can't stand up and go for a walk. And the time is mooooviiiing sooooo sloooowly. Screw this x_X

4) I hate cabbage, but you all already know that.

5) I hate running out of pictures on film. I have broken counter on my analogue Nikon, so it always is such an unpleasant surprise...

6) I hate stinking people. Don't mind if it's because of sweat in this annoying heat, alcohol, cigarettes or all-3-in-1. It's horrible and there should be some sensor for that at every entrance, such as fire-alarm.

7) I hate insect, because it does love me!

8) I hate, when people are staring at me with those blank faces I can't read. It's always questionable... Do I look riddiculous, pathetic or beautiful they can't even breath? Do I have something on my face, on my clothes? Did a bird shit on me or am I carrying a toiletpaper captured on my slip shoe? ... they just don't have any expression at all. It really bothers me a lot.

9) I hate disgusting sweets. It is pissing me of, cause you are so looking forward to have something good and tasty, and to your disappointment you end up spitting it into a trashbin.

10) Most of all I hate annoying noices and sounds. For example banging with dishes... oh yeah, my teeth are already sawed-off, but with this disturbing bluster I would need dental prothesis in my thirties x_X

And no, I'm not full of hate, don't worry. I just needed to take my anger and frustration out.
